A commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) offers many positive benefits for your company. CSR enhances employee morale, improves brand awareness, and demonstrates to key stakeholders, your generosity to charity and the community.
Plus, there are significant tax advantages when your company makes a donation to CYT. And it is only through donations by businesses like yours that CYT can continue to help disadvantaged and vulnerable young people from Wolverhampton.
CYT needs £60,000 each year to grow and continue to develop its work with the children and young people of Wolverhampton.
We are a charity supported solely by membership fees, a small Council Grant, sponsorship and donations. We are the only truly inclusive youth theatre in Wolverhampton. Every year, we change young people’s lives and every year we need to raise the funding to enable us to continue to do this.
Our Company Angels back great new productions by both large and small ensemble casts. Our programme is designed by our professional Director, who founded the Youth Theatre 30yrs ago and has dedicated herself to creating an extra-ordinary range of experiences for young people over three decades. She aims to challenge young people to experience different styles/genres of theatre, extend their knowledge of theatre forms, playwrights, performance styles and to experience performing locally, nationally and internationally. Most of this work is complimentary but very different to the type of work young people encounter within the school curriculum or through the annual school production.
We produce several shows each year:
- One specifically with junior (8-12 year old) members.
- Several with the senior group of varying styles and genres.
- International exchanges and tours.
We perform across the City of Wolverhampton at a range of theatre, non-theatre venues appropriate to the production e.g. Newhampton Arts Centre, Arena Theatre, The Grand, street theatre settings and site-specific venues such as Low Level Station.
Workshop Angel – £150 will pay for a CYT Facilitator to lead a one day workshop during our school holiday programmes for 30 young people.
New Director/Writer Angel – £500. CYT has a commitment to nurturing young directors/writers, both within our membership and those up and coming in the industry and as such we have nurtured a host of new talents which include ……..
Production Angel – £1,500. Our sets and production values reflect the professional ambitions of the company and our props and wardrobe, have significant material costs. We ensure a high standard of production in order to create aspiration within our membership.
CYT Juniors Guardian Angel – £3000. Our juniors meet every Sunday morning between 10.30am to 12.30pm and learn a broad range of skills associated with the dramatic arts and stage productions
CYT Seniors Guardian Angel – £5,000. Our seniors meet every Sunday between 1pm – 5.30pm and learn a broad range of skills associated with the dramatic arts and stage theatre productions of the highest standard. Develop interest in and understanding of all aspects of the production process.
CYT International Angel – £10,000. CYT has a strong reputation for the diversity of our work and is unique in the UK for the amount of international work we undertake. In 2013 we will be taking a group to the Czech Republic and in August we have been selected to represent the UK at the World Festival of Amateur Theatre in Monaco and will give 16 young actors ‘a once in a lifetime experience’
